Want to know more about the International Accelerator Program team here at USC? Take a listen to what our Student Services Advisor, Madeline Willett has to say about her job, the university and how she’ll help you once you arrive on campus!

Name: Madeline Willett
Hometown: Dayton, Ohio, USA
Languages she is fluent in: English, Spanish
Countries Visited: Argentina, Austria, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, South Africa and Spain
International Experience: During my senior year of high school I studied in Bariloche, Argentina as an exchange student; in the summer of 2013 I studied South African political history in Stellenbosch, South Africa; and during my junior year of university in 2014-15, I studied abroad in Salamanca, Spain.
Favorite hidden (or not so hidden) place in Columbia: I I love the Carolina Cafe (across from the Horseshoe), a place not too many people frequent. They have great sandwiches and it is always a quiet place to work on homework and relax.
Fun Facts: I love to sew and paint — USC IAP student once told me that my hobbies are “not those of a young person”. In my free time, I am a member of six different groups in the Columbia area, including the Columbia Outdoor Adventure Network, Columbia Writers Group, two different Columbia culture groups, a meditation group and a Spanish conversation group. It’s safe to say I enjoy staying active in the community.
