Math Placement Test at USC

USC Students

Before you arrive at USC, you must take your Math Placement Test.  The Math Placement Test is online, and you should take it in your home country.  Math is a very important subject for all students, especially Business majors and Engineering majors.  You will have 90 minutes to take the test; the earlier you take the test, the earlier you will be able to know which math class you will take this semester.

Step 1: Determine which test you need to take.

  • If you are in a science-related major, take the PreCalculus Placement Test.
  • If you are in a business-related major, take the Algebra Placement Test.
  • If you have a different major, we will let you know which test to take.

 

Step 2: Review the practice tests found here.

 

Step 3: Claim your VIP ID and Set Your Password at my.sc.edu. Watch the video below for instructions.

Please have the following information before you complete this step:

  • VIP ID
  • Last 4 digits of your USC ID
  • Legal Last Name
  • Date of Birth

Step 4: Obtain your Network Username, Establish your Password and Log-In to your Student Email through the following website: my.sc.edu. Watch the video below for instructions.
